Jessie Jane's Walking!

I knew it was coming, it's just natural. I was just hoping she stay little a while longer though! Jessie Jane is growing up. Soon she'll be punching her big brothers and cousins in the nose because they looked at her wrong. Let's hope she's not that cranky!

My folks have a Texas Longhorn steer head mounted in their living room. He was the first Longhorn calf born on our place over 20 years ago. He's up high enough on the wall that you won't hit his nose with your head, or at least us short people won't. When all the boys were little they started petting "Rudy", that's what we call the steer, on the nose. Now, if someone names a steer it's obvious there's not a lot of them around! There's also a cow on another wall that they like to pet. If they were upset it would calm them down if they could pet Rudy and the cow. The other night Jessie Jane was sitting with MaMaw, that's my mom, in the living room. She would reach up towards Rudy and making noise. She wanted to pet him. She did that several times. Some folks might think that's strange, but I think it's a good sign she's gonna be an ag-minded girl. Nothing wrong with that!!
